03•16•2020 During this new, interesting, and unknown time in history, many of us have been looking back, reflecting on our lives, to this point. • What got us here? Where are we now? And where do we wish to see things going in the near future? This is a time where many of us are hanging onto faith, goodness and love, hoping to let go of fear and uncertainty. • A time when major US metropolitan cities are experiencing #shutdowns and many of us are finding ourselves currently without work, as our job industries have halted, canceled, or temporarily shut down, as mine has. However, this is NOT the time to panic. But rather, I implore you to be gentler and kinder. • Reframe and instead, look at this time of #socialdistancing and #quarantine as a gift; a chance to take a look at life, with a new lens. • There is a lot of uncertainty but life has always been filled with uncertainties. Luckily, there is also a great amount of information, and I believe knowledge is one of the greatest powers. • And we also know this: We still have love. We still have each other. We still have relationships/friendships/co-workers. We have many ways to communicate and connect, so let’s take this time to reach out to old friends, family and take a moment to check-in. We have a wonderful opportunity to really rest, restore and rejuvenate. To take this time as a #selfcare#staycation where you can do those hair and skin masks. Meditate. And nourish your mind, heart and soul. • Please take this time as a gift to focus on human care; caring for yourself and those whom you live with. You have time to hydrate properly and take your vitamins and supplements. Try swapping out a #greenjuice instead of #coffee first thing in the morning! Watch those movies and shows. Have those long conversations. Color, read or organize and enjoy spending your time doing something that’s not only good for you, but also good for others. Wishing you all a happy #SWEET16 🤍✨🙌🏼✨🙏🏼✨
In the midst of this sometimes dark and clouded world, what lights YOU up and illuminates YOUR soul?
As humans, we are a species that is not meant to survive, nonetheless thrive, on our own. We are biologically predisposed to rely, connect with and work with others, in order to succeed. Much of the darkness that has clouded our world comes from utter selfishness and a disregard for others. Social media has made this even more prevalent BUT WE HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THIS!!! Let’s flip this selfish, self-centered script and start writing a story of a world where people come together, forming thriving communities and networks. Let’s help each other, creating a better, brighter world, together. ❤️ Always JLee, Your Sweet 16
How would your life change if you stopped saying “can’t” ?? Words have power and often our words become our reality. If we are feeding ourselves a negative and limiting dialogue, what boundaries are we also unintentionally creating? What if we begin focusing on possibilities vs limitations; “cans” instead of “can’ts”?
Try it. It’s fascinating the incredible freedom we can feel when we allow ourselves to encourage growth vs stagnation. Sorry for the wild thoughts but at the very least, I implore you to run it through your mind. ❤️ Always, JLEE Your Sweet 16
What are YOU grateful for? Take a few minutes every day to reflect, and think of what you’re grateful for. 🙌🏼 Have you tried this? . I like to do this by starting with 3–5 deep breaths; taking equal time for inhales and exhales. You can do this with your eyes open, closed or while you visualize something calming and peaceful (like stars in the night sky or the ocean). . As I breathe in, I thank my body and life for what I’ve accomplished. As I exhale, I thank my body and life for what is yet to come. . When in a state of gratitude, it is nearly impossible to be angry, devastated or defeated. A simple breathing exercise can help balance, align and ground you. It’s refreshing and amazing how mere minutes of conscious thought and breathing can truly change your day and life!! Give it a try, breathe freely and thrive!! ❤️ Always, JLee aka Your Sweet 16. .
I’m curious, Do you take the road less traveled? Or the path of least resistance? Which journey brings you the most joy? The beauty of this is there is no single right or wrong answer. Let me know which path or road you take? 🤗
Everyone must choose the path, road, and journey that best fits them. Is taking the path of least resistance the easy way out? Is taking the road less traveled a harder more perplexing route? Who knows. Everyone will have a different answer, as everyone has different likes and or dislikes, different goals, and different dreams.
For me, I have always been a bit of a trailblazer, embarking on the roads less traveled and at times, even creating my own path or detour. This is life. It is crazy, it is wonderful, it can be magical, and yes, at times it can also be downright awful. But hey that’s the glory and the sacrifice we make when living a full life. Because if you’re not truly living your life, what are you doing with your journey, your life adventure? Thank you for sharing this perfectly imperfect journey with me. Can’t wait to read your answers ⬇️🙌🏼 ❤️Always, JLee Your #Sweet16
Always be you. Embrace your uniqueness, as that’s what makes you beautiful. 🤟🏼🌈🙌🏼 . “Don’t be discouraged, oh I realize, It’s hard to take courage. In a world full of people, You can lose sight of it all. The darkness inside you Can make you feel so small. Show me a smile then. Don’t be unhappy. Can’t remember when, I last saw you laughing. This world makes you crazy And you’ve taken all you can bear Just call me up, ’Cause I will always be there.
I see your true colors, shining through. I see your true colors. and that’s why I love you! So don’t be afraid to let them show, your true colors. True colors are beautiful, I see your true colors Shining through!!” –written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, performed by Cyndi Lauper
Chautauqua!!! Have you ever been to #chatauqua in #bouldercolorado ?? It is one of my favorite spots and was such a wonderful treat taking Lil Sweet home to #colorado for a little #hometownvisit 🤗 . Staying connected to my roots, where I came from, where I grew up, is so important to me. I am so grateful for all of my childhood friends from #preschool and #kindergarten as my friends are very much my family. . In today’s extremely fast-paced world, it can be easy for some to be swept up and forget where they came from. However, I truly believe there is a lot of value in remaining grounded and humble, and remembering where you came from is key. Thank you Colorado for such a special hometown visit!! 🖤 Always, JLee Your #SWEET16
What is YOUR special talent or hidden skill?? I can’t wait to learn about all of the special things that make each of you, you. 🤗
Everyone has a nifty talent or skill, that makes them unique. Embrace what makes you, YOU. As no one else can be YOU! Please trust me when I say, “YOU ARE SPECIAL”. In a world of conformity, nurture the things that make you special and unique, as those things will carry your far and help you grow into the beautiful life that is meant for you.
WHEN LIFE GETS YOU DOWN, WHAT LIFTS YOU UP?? Taking time each day to center, contemplate, reflect and acknowledge what you are grateful for, is priceless. Giving daily gratitude feeds the soul, nourishes the heart & stimulates the mind. Giving thanks forces the mind to shift into a positive space; looking at the good versus dwelling on the bad.
When life gets messy and difficult, I force myself to stop whatever it is I am doing in that moment and meditate/think about what I am grateful for; what makes life good and meaningful. My daily list of gratitude always consists of people, as I am very much a people person. To me life is rich and beautiful when shared with others; when choices are made to benefit and serve a greater good and cause versus being self serving.
Giving back and volunteering are also wonderful for lifting spirits during times of pain and sorrow. Giving back and being grateful help lift me during difficult times and I hope it can help you too. I am so grateful for YOU. Thank you for sharing the perfectly imperfect journey with me. 🖤 Always, JLee your SWEET16.
There are certain things that simply break my heart. Injustice, unfairness, cruelty, malice, hatred and unnecessary tragedies, crush me. Such a acts are mind boggling, as the magic of life comes from working together, as a family, as a team, as a community.
Though this moment looks like a tragic defeat, it actually marks an emotional victory. • Seconds before this moment, the contestant had just taken the deal. When asked which case she would’ve opened next, she pointed to me and said “Sweet 16!!” I was shaking and could barely breathe. I was still terrified even though she had just taken the Deal (meaning she was in the clear; her winnings were secured). Howie cued me to open my case and when I looked inside and saw that I held The Million $ (meaning she lost the million and her deal would have dropped drastically), my knees crippled out of sheer relief and joy that she had taken the deal and that I hadn’t been the bearer of dream smashing news. • I had no idea I was going to become so connected to each contestant; rooting for their dreams and sharing their excitement and nervousness. I wanted each and every one of our contestants to win, because we have truly wonderful souls on our amazing show. 🤩🙌🏼 • In a world filled with far too much hatred and anger, I can only hope that we ALL can work together, to build a better future, full of tears of joy and gratitude vs tears of pain and sorrow. Love Always, JLee aka Your #SWEET16 🖤🤟🏼
